Trees Are Too Small When Exported

When you export a tree from Q it will be exported as a single image. This means that for very large trees the content of the tree can become difficult to read. One solution is to capture the nodes of a tree separately and arrange them on separate pages so that the details can be communicated.

Use The Windows Snipping Tool

Windows has a program called Snipping Tool which can be used to grab parts of the screen that can then be pasted into the Office programs and elsewhere. The Snipping Tool is most-easily accessed by clicking the Windows start menu, typing Snipping Tool into the search bar, and then selecting Snipping Tool from the list of results.

To snip an individual node of a tree for use in PowerPoint, you should:

1. View your tree in Q.
2. Use your mouse-wheel or the zoom buttons in the top toolbar to zoom in until the information in the node can be read easily.
3. Open the Snipping Tool. Your screen will be lightly shaded to indicate that the Snipping Tool is in use.
4. Click-and-drag a rectangular region around the node that you want to capture.
5. Release your mouse button, and the image that you outlined will appear in a new Snipping Tool window.
6. Press Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy the image.
7. Go to PowerPoint (or other program) and press Ctrl + V on your keyboard to paste the image in.
