How to Customize Labels Used for Quarters in a Date Variable

When working with Date variables, Q will automatically assign labels to the months and quarters. However, it may on occasion be useful to change the labels assigned to quarters. To do so, take the steps here:

1. In Q, go to Edit > Project Options > Customize > Output Text
2. Scroll down to the row labelled "(quarter Apr...Jun)" and assign your desired label in the Override Text column.
3. Repeat the above step for the other quarters and labels. See the screenshot below as an example.
4. Click OK when done.

Wherever you then set your Date question aggregation to Quarter the labels assigned in this process will be used.
